The Navy Career is one of the various aspects of the military profession. It is the organized maritime military force of a nation. The career is one major way of rendering a rewarding service to one's nation in a very unique way.

Job Profile

The Navy career is directly involved in the maritime sector. It includes ships monitoring, air and missile forces, shipyards and shore bases building and maintenance of fleets. The primary responsibilities of the navy officers are conquest and defense via the shores and coast of their nations. In peace keeping missions, they have diplomatic functions, such as showing the national flag and they have often play a valuable role in exploration. In times of war, the navy officers operate under and over the sea as well as on its surface. They protect the nation's coast and launch attacks against enemy coasts through the use of aircraft and missiles.



Navy officers also work in various capacities as medical personnel, business managers, law enforcements agents, security agents an so on.

Basic Requirements

Academically, navy career applicants are expected to have some level of education. The completion of the secondary school basic education gives one the eligibility of applying for the compulsory navy career training and examination. Successful candidates at the end of the examination are then enrolled in their various capacities as navy workers. However, a good degree in a special field like medicine, engineering, and others gives people the leverage of scaling to top and efficient positions available in the navy career.

Successful candidates who are taken normally begin their career as what is known as “Ensign”. After two years of service, an Ensign can be promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade if he meets level requirements. After four years, the Junior Lieutenant depending on his performances is made a senior Lieutenant.  As the tide continues, the senior Lieutenant can scale through to other levels such as Air vice Marshal and then to the highest level known as Fleet Admiral.

Medical fitness is also a must since the career demands a lot of physical alertness from the applicants. A Navy career is not a work for the slothful or the disabled. It demands a lot of mental and physical action from the individual.

Employment Outlook

A Navy career is a promising one indeed. The future of any one in the career is really bright. Opportunities to go to places and make wonderful connections abound.

The salary size is based on one's level which is based on time. The government of the federation fixes the salary and increases it as occasion demands. Again, like every other military career, Navy officers are compensated in the case of death while on duty. The retirement benefits are also attractive.

The Navy career is really one of the most respected in the military profession. The appearance of the Navy officers displays honor. It is indeed a promising career for a serious minded person who wants to write their name in the sands of the time.
