As an Engineering Technician (Civil) you will work with construction during contingency operations, life support and management.
You will complete tasks working with power generation to include generator operations, maintenance, and distribution and troop construction tasks such as framing, plumbing, electrical, and placing concrete.
You will operate equipment to include forklifts, front-end loader, grader, bulldozer, skid steer, and backhoe.
You will also perform project administrative management duties to include schedules and budgets.
You will coordinate efforts with the Contingency Base Integration Training Evaluation Center (CBITEC) located in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.
You will also support planning, execution, and administrative support to programs for the contingency basing team including Army Facilities Component System (AFCS), and the Virtual Forward Operating Base (VFOB).
You will support planning, execution, and administrative support to the Deployable Metering and Monitoring System (DMMS), and Robotic Engineer Operations (REO).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the DE-03 (GS-8/9/10) level candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to a DE-02 (GS-07) in the Federal Government which includes experience performing and overseeing contingency level construction tasks; operating and maintaining construction equipment and generators; and providing administrative services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project and this pay band includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-08/09/10.
