Job DescriptionKelly Services in partnership with a local manufacturing company has an immediate need for a 3rd shift Re cutter/USR Operator, the ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and running the Re cutter/USR, cut product to proper size and measurements according to customer specifications. Sets up and operates Recutter/USR machine to cut continuous lengths of material into strips of specified widths. Make consistent quality checks of product being produced.Provide proper completed labels to ensure accurate information is received by shipping department. Maintain a neat and accurate daily production log. Participate in continuous improvement and effectively communicate opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness for this position.All other reasonable duties as required. Responsible for the prompt start of Recutter/USR at the beginning of shift. Shut down Recutter/USR and air supplies at the end of the day-s run and while unattended. Keep up to date with any ongoing machine improvements. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area. Foster an attitude of lean thinking, sustain improvements and follow lean initiatives.
The Recutter/USR Operator must hold a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
