Manager, Commercial Credit Policy & Innovation

Capital One’s Commercial Credit Policy & Innovation (CCP&I) Team, housed within the Credit Risk and Analytics (CR&A) Division is responsible for defining the credit parameters and authorities for the commercial business of Capital One Bank, and ensuring Associates understand Capital One’s risk tolerance in each line of business. The CCP&I team is responsible for documenting the commercial credit risk framework, its underlying documents and associated governance. The team’s contribution is critical in providing a foundation for sound underwriting practices, complying with the internal policies and external regulations to which the Bank is subject and exhibiting the overall culture of Capital One.

The CCP&I team is embarking on a program to enhance and simplify the Credit policy framework, underlying policies and approval processes and is seeking a Manager level associate with the right skill set and competencies to join the team.

Role Description

The Manager will play an integral role within the CCP&I team, leading and supporting efforts to streamline and simplify the Credit policy framework and implement changes that meet regulatory requirements and/or are strategic and transformative for the Bank. The role offers an opportunity for significant professional growth and exposure across the Commercial Bank including the Business Lines and Risk Organization.

Responsibilities include:

Assist CCP&I team leaders in executing the change management project plan and related roadmap

Lead and support the end-to end planning, design, development and implementation of enhancements, leveraging technology, in line with business objectives

Manage on-going monitoring and reporting of program activities, milestones and status

Assist in drafting new credit framework documents or updates to existing credit policies or standards

Assist in the preparation of Notices for revisions to policies considering current regulatory expectations and internal practices

Develop communications (e.g. presentations, materials) for key stakeholders and senior leadership

Assist in training and communication efforts to key stakeholders related to change initiatives

Specific accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Challenging the status quo, understand the objective for each policy matter and impact to business

Researching regulatory interpretation and leading industry practices relating to commercial lending practices such as Leveraged Lending, Asset Based Lending and other types of structures

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Military experience

At least 5 years' regulatory experience or risk management experience

Preferred Qualifications

MBA, J.D, or master’s degree

7 years' experience in supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business partners

Experience with digital transformation including technical programs and project lifecycle
